Dew. Nilgiris. Heritage.
📍 Kottakombai · Jackanarai · Aruguchi
Since 1990, the Deepika Group has been a quiet custodian of the Nilgiris' finest traditions — three estates across Kottakombai, Jackanarai, and Aruguchi, each shaped by the same mist, the same altitude, and the same uncompromising spirit.
Across Deepika Tea, Navilkal Tea, and Hosatty Tea, every garden is cultivated without a single synthetic chemical. Rooted in organic farming and the inherited wisdom of Nilgiri soil, every leaf we harvest is pure — shaped entirely by climate, care, and craft. No shortcuts. No compromise.
Our tea pickers and factory artisans are the soul of these estates. We invest deeply in their welfare, dignity, and livelihoods — empowering local families across Kotagiri and Coonoor to build their futures around the timeless art of tea. And through every cup we craft, our ambition is simple: to carry the spirit of these hills to tea lovers across the world.
Over 40 Years of Tea Mastery
"Great tea is not made — it is earned. Through patience, respect for the land, and an unrelenting pursuit of purity."
Mr. Shanthi A Ramu, M.A., is a man of deep conviction and distinguished public service. A former Member of the Legislative Assembly representing the Coonoor Constituency, he has long championed the welfare of the hill communities of the Nilgiris. In 1990, he established Deepika Tea in Kottakombai — and over the decades grew that vision into the Deepika Group, encompassing Navilkal Tea in Jackanarai and Hosatty Tea in Aruguchi, Coonoor. Across three estates and four decades of hands-on experience, his legacy is measured not only in the rare character of every cup, but in the livelihoods he has shaped and the generations of tea artisans across Kotagiri and Coonoor he continues to inspire.

Across all three estates — every leaf, every cup, held to the same uncompromising standard.
From our gardens in Kottakombai, Jackanarai, and Aruguchi to your cup — every leaf is traceable, every step transparent. Pure Nilgiri tea, exactly as nature intended.
At over 2,400 feet above sea level, cooler temperatures, mountain mist, and unhurried seasons conspire to give our leaves a depth of flavour no lowland garden can replicate.
We follow the unhurried rhythms of traditional Nilgiri tea-making — slow withering, careful rolling, and deliberate oxidation — because the finest character cannot be rushed.
Three distinct highlands. One uncompromising philosophy.
The birthplace of the Deepika Group. Nestled in the highland village of Kottakombai, this flagship factory has quietly shaped the character of Nilgiri tea since 1990 — cultivating every leaf without chemicals, every cup with conscience.
Carved into the slopes of Jackanarai, Navilkal Estate draws on a unique highland microclimate to produce teas of remarkable clarity and depth — three distinct blends, each a faithful expression of the Nilgiri soil.
Set along the Hosatty Road in Aruguchi, this Coonoor estate brings a distinctly bold character to the Deepika portfolio. The cooler air and rolling elevation of Coonoor Taluk shape leaves with warmth that is unmistakably Nilgiri.
